And his father's advisor basically indirectly saying Oden is 18 and still a delinquent. You think the general perception was people liked the guy who was causing trouble left and right? lol

- Then the soup thing happens, which shows the dude isn't a complete prick. But again, this compares nothing to somebody like Newgate or Harald or even King Riku. But you're not using the "coolest guy" thing for them. I just think if your criticism for anti-Oden is "coolest guy" being forced, I just think there's dozens of other characters who fit the bill way better than Oden, a good amount of them are fan favorites.

BUUTTT what I do know is, if you go check the archived spoilers discussions threads for chapters 961 to the dance chapter, you had admiraltards, yonkotards twerking them ass in circles over this man. And it took 1 scene for those same people to go "eehh he's a trash character". Swordtards pretty much were the only ones who didn't cause Oden was being weaponized against Mihawk (and by some against Zoro). lmao

I like the series and the art is peak, but I kind of fell off with the series.

The current manga is just confusing now with the constant redraws and hiatus.

And when it comes to the anime, Season 2 was just average, and from what I can tell, things are not looking great for Season 3.

Summary of OPM's state:

-The series originally started as a non-official Webcomic by ONE.

-Bought by Shueisha to be published as an official Manga with art by Murata and story by ONE.

-Manga follows Webcomic almost 1:1 (up until Monster Association arc) and its a massive success

-Anime Season 1 releases by Studio MADHOUSE and its even bigger success

Now here's where the problem comes:

-During and after the Monster Association arc, the story stopped following the Webcomic and started inventing new shit out of its ass

-Because this new shit was never in the Webcomic, the plot loses track of itself many times and the authors are forced to redraw it over and over again

-Some people believe its Murata's fault trying to add new shit on his own, others believe its ONE (even though his webcomic is still the same with consistently good quality writing to this day), nobody knows.

-Anime moved to different studio (JC staff) for seasons 2 and 3, with horrible quality.

Thats about the gist of it. Unfortunate time to be an OPM fan sadly...

well yea, there's a degree of anti-CD in all of them, even Borsalino, just depends on who has it to what degree.

But even Garp so far in the series never claimed to be a good guy or somebody for people to aspire after or such. Yet people use that as slander against him cause he's supposedly preaching "goodness" or sum shit while serving the CD. lol. Only thing he's preached about so far in terms of ideology is that youngin should be prioritized over oldies when rescuing. Which he stood 10 toes down on in Hachinuso.


This is why yonkotards and admiraltards teaming up to slander Garp and Sengoku is corny, they never claimed to be the ultimate good guys lol. They just do what they think is right, that's it.

Not only Oden was a good character as much as Kaido was a compelx one, but we were reminded again (and again, again, again, again, again, then again, again, again, again, again,....) of him for 150.
For fuck sake even the arc enemeis seems to have Oden's pic by the bed.

Oden could have even been a passable character if It wasn't the personification of the overexposition.
