Damn, I feel bad for suspecting Gloriosa of selling Shakky out, now: this is one of the most real displays of emotions Oda has drawn in a while, IMO, you can tell Gloriosa is heartbroken:
Wow, Garling is a true monster; this scene is before Garling killed the king, I believe, because the people hadn't been taken as slaves, yet, and the Marines hadn't arrived. Looks like Garling used the Abyss to come first. The man killed the mother of his children in front of them, then, a bit later, told them, "Children... watch this." Dude murdered the woman who was waiting for him to return, then had her kids watch him slaughter her home. That's nuts.
Also, we see that God Valley's town is legitimately in the middle of the two large mountains/split mountain.
Did some Swordsman cut God Valley in half in the past?
Knowing this series, there's a chance God Valley is named as such, because a Haki Emission from a Sword sliced the mountain in half, killing a "God" in the process to make the valley.
Man this chapter Rocks.

I'd imagine the gun Dragon is using was designed by Vegapunk, since it's a non-lethal-firearm. Nice nod, if it is, and sets up their future relationship.
If/When Dragon gets his Fruit here, he could possibly use Wind to spread the Sleep Gas around the island
