Hi

any Toei color fans

Post automatically merged:

Tte first intro was more serious and even the different designs showed it

Shiki in the first intro was shown a bit older / with a small beard, more pirate like etc

same for young Kaido who was designed a bit older than in the second intro (A lot closer to his adult design)

Even WB design was better and more refined in the first intro

Also it seemed Rocks went solo asap in GV while in the second intro he took his time to talk with others

I think Oda realized Kaido was supposed to be 21 years old here, which is still very young, so the original drawing in the first intro might have been a mistake because he looked much older (wrinkles, eye bags, balding hairline)

Yeah, I'm a little surprised how...dismissive the official translation is about Gunko. The official wording makes it seem like the Celestial Dragons don't hold her in very high regard as a fighter, even though the Manmayer leader seemed to think having her around was a big benefit to their team earlier. Why would the Manmayer leader think she's strong, but the other Celestial Dragons think she's weak? Maybe the official translation is the one that's off on this part, this time?

I'm guessing "Devoted Blade of God" isn't exactly a rank in the Knights of God. I'm thinking it's the official title of "Imu's assistant". It's Imu's personal guard, or attendant, or something to that effect. It's not a "rank" so much as a "position". That would also make sense to refer to as a "pet". Gunko is Imu's "pet"...which I'm not sure the other Celestial Dragons know about or not. If the other Celestial Dragons don't know about Imu, I guess it WOULD seem like Gunko's not really doing anything. But, I guess we'll see.

Dragon also says that his platoon COULD be killed if he defies the Celestial Dragon. So, that confirms to me that was just a hypothetical Dragon was thinking about, and not something that already happened.

Also, the official translation is now going with "Holy Knights of God". Which, I guess is they best they could do, given past translations.

I checked, and TCB has even edited their translation to correct some of the "issues". So, yeah, probably just some misinterpretations or strange wording in the original Japanese, I'm guessing.

First intro made Mysterious Helmetman and Lafitte's Dad so cool that Oda had to correct it by making everyone and their mama dumb goofy in the second intro. Even XX Drake got downgraded.

Doubt it, because:

1- He's the same age as Dragon in present (55) so he would be 17 years old here, which is too young for a commanding officer

2- The dialogue and sweat sfx reads like your typical anxious Marine fodder, not how Sakazuki talks like

3- Not every character needs to be present in God Valley otherwise the story would be lame

The Vivre Card for Shanks said he was a yonko when he met Luffy, which later turned out to be false (Shanks became a yonko 6 years ago).

This could be Sakazuki but it would be another example of a Vivre Card retcon
