I've done multiball a billion times. A neutral that cant be corrupted by a cult, refuses to vote anyone, and simply calmly explains their position.
Is a joy to read their posts, etc.

In my experience it stops the cult from recruiting, but yeah doesnt free those in thrall to the leader.
That said, I want to say this, and I am being serious.
The cult is the single best tool to destroy the wolf team with.
I may not LIKE cult mechanics but they basically turn town into a super-town with a neighborhood and collection of powers they can all aim in the same direction, that are also the same alignment and they know it.
The mafia are going to hit the cult leader at some point to try to stop themselves from getting boxed out.
Let the mafia deal with the cult.
Let the cult deal with the mafia, and HELP the cult do so.

I know this sounds like pro cult propaganda, but no it's ungodly amounts of examples of watching multiball games play out.
The only person town should bother hitting at all is a cult leader, to limit their growth, and mafia are going to do that just to stop themselves from dying.
Usually in a cult game there's also specific, incorruptible, anti cult town power roles and possibly some on the scum team too because the cult is such a big threat to them.
