According to my source, the editor quit his job at Shueisha after reading this week's chapter.

The one issue with this is their backstory says she was killed by a Criminal Gang, and then Kidd, Killer, Heat, and Wire joined forces to take out the gang, then set sail.
So, I don't think the Human Hunt angle works well, unless Oda's retconning (which is possible). I do think Gunko/Brooks' kingdom went through a Human Hunt, though.
Maybe the Criminal Gang was connected to the WG? We know from Kaido and Linlin the WG likes to turn orphans into soldiers.
Maybe Kidd's island was designed to make strong orphan fighters? We know from Goa Kingdom and Kuma's Kingdom that it is possible to redistrict your kingdom, in order to cut out the poor, for the sake of the Heavenly Tribute.
Maybe on Kutsukku Island, the ruling Criminal Gang was a part of the WG and paying Heavenly Tribute, but the four towns run by Kidd, Killer, Heat, and Wire respectively were all lawless areas? What we've seen of Kidd's Island is that it's full of tech. Maybe the WG was working with the gang ruling the island, to find Void Century tech?
I think Shanks already met with Kidd, and thanked him for helping free Shanks' Nakama's, Oden's, homeland, Wano.
Shanks should love Kidd for helping Wano. Shanks has hurt Kidd, Kidd hasn't actually caused Shanks any real problems. If Kidd hates Shamrock, not Shanks, Kidd would be in the wrong for attacking Shanks like this.
Kidd should also be worshipped as a hero of Elbaph, for defeating Big Mom.
I think Kidd is partying with Shanks up in Heaven World, and GunkImu's CoC Haki burst will make them realize what's happening
I think Kidd and Shanks will show up together, once we get back to the present.
I think Shanks will teach Kidd about Haki/CoC. I also think the Giants will help Kidd rebuild the Victoria Punk, and we'll the Victoria Punk's Klabautermann

We see Mihawk touch GunkImu, and Imu in Marijoa is incredibly confused as their entire body turns into silhouette.
We learn from the Narrator Mihawk has been blackmailing Imu ever since, threatening to never give them their color palette back.
Like Boa's Fruit, the Blank Fruit is irreversible if the user is killed, and, Haki cannot break its effects.
