Is this not proof that you (almost) can’t satisfy everyone?
A lot of the fandom’s number one complaint when it comes to Naruto is Kishimoto abandoning a lot of the cool side characters from Part 1
Rock Lee is never relevant again, Neji isn’t relevant until he dies in the final arc, Hinata does nothing the whole series and her relationship with Naruto is never developed, the rest of the Konoha 11 pretty much fall off a cliff after the OG
You either do too much or you don’t do enough. I think FMAB is the only anime I’ve ever watched where no one really complains about the character’s having too much or too little screentime. They all get their fair share and have relatively satisfying conclusions
Obviously you can't satisfy everyone because everyone has different preferences. Personally, I don't really care that much for side characters that aren't relevant to the plot unless they have thematic or symbolic importance to the narrative. I think AOT is a good example of utilizing characters like Shadis, Kenny, Pyxis, and especially Grisha to have a low-screentime high impact effect without bloating up the story (which I feel like Oda unfortunately has a bad habit of)
People say they want to see more of the Konoha 11 but I never really understood it that much because the story is not about the Konoha 11. Who wants to see Shino backstory or sidequest during the Five Kage Summit or Itachi Pursuit? They're not major characters so they don't receive major focus. Most of them are just there to make the world feel more alive. Rock Lee is someone who maybe could've used a bit more focus in part 2 but his character arc was already completed in part 1, and Might Guy ends up overshadowing him anyway.
I think people let their expectations of what they want to happen get ahead of what the story actually intends for certain characters. Naruto is not a romance manga, we get reasons for why Hinata feels affection for Naruto and vice versa, and we see how they stick up for each other in times of trouble. There isn't really much more needed than that, because that's not what the story is about.
