It was never even that necessary. The only fruits that didn't have obvious weaknesses were Smoker and Kizaru, but with a little creativity, beating them could've been possible without haki. I mean, if haki can just cancel devil fruits, then why did Blackbeard, a powerful haki user, go through all that trouble for the yami yami no mi? Why was Ace so shocked that Blackbeard could hurt him? It was obvious haki wasn't planned until around Sabaody, and Mantra was clearly meant to be some skypiean race exclusive ability rather than observation haki.

You know, its funny to me how Oda deliberately took the time to introduce gloves that can literally touch Light in Egghead, only to never actually use them.

It felt like such an obvious set-up for any of the SHs to use this new Vegapunk's invention on Kizaru to at least try and fight him instead of running away because "No Haki = You Weak"

This series has become so brainrotted with Haki that no other power system works anymore. Not devil fruits or advanced technology.

Shit, we might see the Ancient Weapons get used in the final arc only for the victims to survive them because "Muh Haki barrier strong"

Actually I think Blackbeard talked about Luffy's Haki matching his bounty in Jaya.
Also I don't really mind Haki but I hate how Oda implemented it. It should have just stayed at the basic stuff imo
