The Ozempic man isn't even writing anymore. Since his work on Beauty & the Beast and the 90s reboot of Twilight Zone, GRRM fell in love with script writing and film making. Writing science fiction and fantasy has always been an avenue to that.

Now that he's got HBO desperate to cash in on the few scraps of GoT goodwill, he'll never pump out another book.

I have a theory that his ending was going to look somewhat similar to S8, when he saw the backlash he knew he couldn't deliver for shit.

This is where we have to give mangaka credit, they are expected to pump chapters out weekly, on a tight schedule. Writing these books where you can sit there and edit over a million times isn't as impressive as most people would like to believe.

The thing is, AOT isn't One Piece, or Naruto, or Bleach etc. where the journey is greater than the end goal. AOT the end goal is by far a bigger deal than the journey, almost nothing else matters. All plot points, all the hype scenes, characters etc. everything is for the end result. Once the ending is dogshit and you know those "mysteries" amount to nothing, there's not much to go back to and enjoy. AOT went from being the best anime had to offer, to not even worth a single rewatch.

If the One Piece is something stupid, I can still go back and rewatch cool One Piece scenes, because the journey is what made us fans of this series.

I think to each his own but I can still rewatch / read AOT no problem

The first battle where everyone died is still insane

the fear of the titans etc still real

the boulder thing

Later too the Annie fight, the first Reiner rebel and fight, the Zeke intro and the whole being broken, Erwin, Jean etc, etc etc etc

AOT has so many great moments I can watch again no problem

and more importantly the feelings, emotions and excitement I had watching / reading it will never go away even if the end was bad as fuck

And it’s more important than being disappointed

I prefer reading a manga that have 10/10 parts but also 2/10 than a manga that is always 6-7/10
Way more worth it and fulfilling

I have the same thoughts, it's obvious he gave the showrunners the ending and they just adapted the story to get there.

TBF GRRM is supposed to have a deadline too but his publishers are very forgiving of him given his status.

Also try Mob Psycho 100. More tame than some of the other animes/mangas we've discussed in this thread but it's my second favorite newgen anime/manga that I've seen, just very slightly below CSM part 1 imo.
But if you want to watch it then I insist on watching the anime, the manga's art is trash

I would agree with you if the ending was not the worst thing in all of fiction, to me even worse than GOT S8. It is the biggest spit in the face, I don't even have the words to describe how bad it is. It is malicious. There are so many things wrong with it, but I cannot believe what that man did to Eren's character.
