Kaido declared his loyalty for rocks
Kaido gets acknowledge by imu

what happened:
Kaido sneaked another top tier
Kaido the haki preacher was the happiest man alive after eating his df
Kaido only joined xebec because he wanted to test his DF

Kaidou fans should be happy, no problems with that. He's been one of the most highlighted characters in this flashback. It's when they become delusional and start massively overrating how strong this version of Kaidou is. There's probably like 7 characters in the Rocks pirates who can fold Kaidou atm. They're confusing relevance with strength. We know for a fact he was rivalling the likes of Hanafuda after this, and we were told and even shown a snippet of him having a legit match with Moriah damn near into his mid 30s.

Kaidou has done nothing so far that contradicts the above.
