They're in the same tier. You could argue gas is better because of its overall versatility. Gas is a top tier logia so by default it is in tier 1 of dfs. A high tier logia is already a top tier fruit overall, a top tier logia is like a top 5 fruit in the verse by default.

Thats what Im sayin. You can tank quake punches but you cant tank oxygen deprivation. Gura is in general tier of logias fruitwise but gas fruit is theoretically nika or yami fruit category. Control of gases you own control of the entire sky

How? Kaido is objectively a very badly written character. People can like him for his feats, his appearance, his monstrosity and brutality - that's something which I enjoyed reading in Wano when he was shown to be completely cruel to his enemies - or other reasons but man, it isn't an overstatement to claim Oda doesn't know how to write Kaido at all. He's about "The strongest wins" but then cheap shots his enemies and doesn't grant them another chance (Lolden and the recent one when he sneak attacked Big Mom to get the dragon fruit). Then he wants to die... but does nothing seriously to achieve his goal? He saw all Haki monsters virtually doing nothing to Imu, yet he believes Haki still rules the world? How is that even possible at this point? And his "top 5 ceiling" thing... Come on, Imu arguably solos them all without blinking an eye, yet he wasn't included in his list? How?

I wish Kaido got the same kind of characterization like Doflamingo or even fucking Big Mom, before she turned into an entire joke in Wano, but Oda simply fucked it up big with Kaido. At this point, I just wish Kaido was written like Frieza or Cell - antagonists who are simply evil for the lolz. People nowadays do not like these kind of villains that much but honestly... I don't dislike this at all. A reason why I believed Gargling had high potential, until Oda sacrificed him for Imu's hypetool, lol.

Not every character needs to have an edgy teenager backstory that lasts for ages like Doflamingo, Kaido was introduced as an unstoppable berserker and I didn't expect depth more from him, but Oda gave him depth, he fought in wars even as a child, it makes complete sense why he values power above anything, yet he's also surprisingly honorable and in many cases very loyal.

Kaido didn't put Imu on his list because Imu isn't a pirate, it's as simple as that.

Imu is a character with zero charisma, void of any personality, he acts like a generic Saturday morning cartoon villain, evil for the sake of being evil.

I'm not really into that but what I basically meant is how you criticize Imu for his lack of characterization while you somehow turn a blind eye to Kaido's attrocious execution as a character. That simply isn't adding up lol

You're forcing a connection that simply doesn’t exist. I can criticize Imu as much as I want without having to justify anything about Kaido.
Analyzing one character doesn’t mean I have to balance it out with another — that just shows a lack of argument. If the topic is Imu, that’s who I’m talking about. Trying to bring Kaido into the discussion is just deflecting because there’s no defense for how empty Imu is.

The scale I have is as follows: Joyboy’s Haki is currently the strongest in the entire verse (after Luffy’s and Kaido’s during their final battle).
Imu trembled and was left breathless in the presence of Joyboy’s Haki — that doesn’t give me the impression that Imu possesses Haki on that same level. Later, based on what the giants witnessed, they used Shanks as a reference point for Haki when they saw Joyboy’s.

However, Shanks is incapable of defeating Kaido according to Kaido himself, and according to Kaido, Joyboy might be able to defeat him one day — which places Kaido in between them:
Joyboy ~ Kaido > Shanks.
