Yea, that Garp moment is doing nothing to alleviate the actual problem of him staying with the marines following GV. Probably the only way to salvage that would be Garp vetoing genocide games from happening again (I doubt that his insistence on such a matter would be enough by itself, but maybe with all the CD casualties the Gorosei could be convinced), but this is clearly no longer an option given the whole "I'm-monkey-brained-and-I-don't-give-a-crap-and-punch-my-demonic-boss" thing this chapter.
