I don't really see how there is a parallel between them besides the fact that in real life there was a captain john who had a son named william kidd.

they have completely different personalities in verse. john seems laid back, and treasure obsessed. kidd is very intense, has a conquerors spirit, and wants to be pirate king.

if anything it just seems that kidd will have a connection to captain johns treasure. No narrative parallels seem to be present though. Unless you just mean they both used the same fruit and have captainas their epithet.

I don't see how Doffy could join cross guild. He would want to take control of the entire operation, which conflicts with the nice balance we have of crocodile as the mastermind and mihawk as the strength.
