A short reminder for all the speed readers who are suddenly surprised at the unrecognizable performance of the "old legends":

"I've brought to life one of my countless fantasies: which is for there to be super cool old people who've maintained their strength throughout the years."
"super cool old people who've maintained their strength throughout the years."
"maintained their strength throughout the years."

Sorry, Wuzan is simply that guy. :myman:

Also, y'all can wait till their +45yo versions show some feats but I bet this will hardly look that different compared to their old geezer versions.
How is it a win for the assmiraL copers that Roger and the others didn't hurt Imu? Lol

Then why was one of Rayleigh’s main complaints him saying he wasn’t who he used to be in his prime, and that he was old? There are dozens of contradictions in that SBS — unless you interpret it correctly, and not the wrong way like you’re doing right now, man.
Rayleigh hasn't touched a sword in decades but it doesn't mean his Haki is suddenly decreased by 70% or whatever people are making it out to be.

Don't forget, swordsmanship isn't Kizaru's primary fighting style, yet he was easily matching Rayleigh in his dominated fighting style. What Kizaru exceels at is his crazy durability and speed. He can accelerate his speed and effortlessly blitzed FS Snake Man. What makes you think Rayleigh would easily handle that attack?

But okay, you can say, Rayleigh was old and rusty - this obviously doesn't count for the navy hero who is STILL on duty and doesn't just laze around all day and doing nothing.

This SBS answers the true powerlevels of the old legends. So in fact, it is their "weak performance" which is a contradiction to Oda's statement, not the other way around. Especially since Oda made sure to show that their "prime selfs" are not leagues above their old versions. They arguably look worse compared to their prime.

The only one who can beat me is me
Whitebeard put his heart and soul into his last two blows against Akainu. Blows that were filled with the grief and anger of the loss of his son and the desire to let the rest of his sons escape.

This was Akainu shortly after:

Just how much can the admirals eat? Kizaru ate G5 Luffy's attacks for breakfast, and Kuzan was taking Garp's ACoC punches to the face casually.
Reminder that Bumgoku looked like a mummy post Marineford and the most action he got was some clashes with Blackbeard and taking his lungs to their limits whenever WB made a move.

And to top it off, you have Whitebeard calling Garp “just an old man now,” which seals the whole idea.

Only someone completely clueless would believe these guys keep the same power in their old age as they had in their primes — it just doesn’t make any sense.
