Oda certainly saw a portion of the readers underestimating and questioning Teach's status as the final villain, and decided to teach them a lesson.

This chapter is the final nail in the coffin for the Imu wankers.
I think about this a lot
BB as the final villain with imu's powerset
and his subordinates
that would have been something

No it isn’t lmao. What do you think mainline means?
what is your definition of mainline
its a flashback

defeated
packed up and left
all thats relevant is their contribution here is done

kaido was fighting moriah at 40. we wont judge too harshly anyway.
Well, the fact that you’re jumping to conclusions so quickly kinda worries me — some sort of hatred toward fictional characters?

Yeah, indeed — forty years, Kaido was wrecking Moriah in Wano, killing his entire crew, while the locals were building a grave for him as he ran away with his tail between his legs.

shortly before that he had a rivalry with hanafuda who got beat by rookie ace

ConquistadoR

The Rogue Prince
Ndule is always coping lol.

If Kaido and Big Mom are tossed away like it's nothing and not continuing the fight against Xebec, that means they lost the fight, even if they aren't completely knocked out.

Either way, Oda made a clear portrayal when he used Kaido and Big Mom to hype up demon Xebec.
They're both mentally/emotionally nerfed from having to fight their beloved, former captain 🥀

Isn’t Hanafunda the same guy who was drooling over Kaido for being so strong? Like, the dude literally joined Kaido just because he admired his strength.

Let me remind you that Ace was fighting evenly with Yamato (base yamato), the same Yamato who used to get beaten up by Kaido — so yeah, the math doesn’t really add up, my friend.

Under the aegis of narrative poetry, it would be a more than deserved ending.

Imagine the scene: the "false king" of the world, the one who usurped a divine throne and wove centuries of shadows and suffering, does not fall in an epic duel or a grand final confrontation.

Instead, his demise is an ironic and cruel footnote. He is reduced to a mere prop, a scenic object in the repertoire of the true heir to the darkest legacy of the seas: the legitimate successor of Davy Jones.

skill issue
some of us have the boxset from viz years ago
its a collectible
It’s not required reading. It’s just an optional side story made to advertise an upcoming movie. The end of Chapter 0 even directly references Strong World. Comparing chapter 0 to chapter 1156 is just dumb. Shanks WiFi diffing GB doesn’t even have anything to do with the plot of Film Red
