It's likely that we aren't shown him being defeated, he just gets tossed into a mountain and then isn't seen for the rest of the chapter. Either way, it doesn't matter, Demon Xebec is basically a god tier who fights prime Roger and Garp 1v2, there is zero shame in rookie Kaido being defeated by him.
Can Imu Domi Reversi a Gorosei? Or do they already derive some of their powers from that 
i have a theory that when Imu Domi Reverses a Conqueror's user (like Rocks or Harald) it can unlock a special form that's even more powerful for them.
maybe the Gorosei originally had different devil fruits but they were edited by Imu's powers?
i.e Nusjuro just had a regular horse fruit, or some kind of cold cold fruit (counterpart to Oven)

I don’t know — throwing Dragon Kaido around isn’t exactly unusual, considering he’s a massive target and had just recently gotten his Devil Fruit, hitting his dragon form isn’t anything extraordinary — we’ve seen people much weaker than Xebec do that without Kaido even flinching.
He could very well have wanted to test the rest of his abilities against Xebec, especially his hybrid form. If that’s the case, I don’t see how that’s a defeat. I’d even say it’s great for a rookie Kaido who’s trying to test his abilities — getting thrown into a mountain by Xebec would help him understand just how tough and resilient he really is.

Indeed, this Xebec is beyond the normal Xebec, who was already on the same level as Roger and Garp — the Domi boost put him way above that. But let’s not exaggerate Xebec’s feat. It’s not that hard to do something to Dragon Kaido (supposedly him) when we’ve seen people much weaker than Xebec affect him “negatively,” and that’s when Kaido actually allows it most of the time. A 21-year-old, inexperienced Kaido being thrown around while wanting to test his powers by a Xebec who just got powered up to the moon isn’t anything insane. I’d even say it’s good for Kaido, as this is how he learns the limits of his resilience and durability.
Ngl Garp the Fist lowkey took the biggest L in Agenda Piece history when Gaban was revealed. Dude made a career out of pretending that Scopper Gaban (who got side by side portrayal with Ray and shares a naming convention with Roger and Ray) was just some random YC level dude who would never be even remotely relevant to the story.
