Ngl, I think it's starting to be annoying that people are using lines that are like 20+ years old, and applying them to current plot points/reveals, when Oda obviously did not intend for it to be interpreted that way when he wrote them. Same shit with people assuming that every single line where someone says "the world", people will assume they akshully were talking about Imu!!!.

1. Teach didnt say his darkness fruit can suck in the devil powers, but "the devil fruit powers". Who post this is trying to fool people

2. Van Augur said "the world" in Egg Head (THE PREVIOUS ARC). He was obviously referring to Imu in that moment, or do you think Oda invented Mu = world last month?

There's no reason to assume that Van is saying anything other then the Blackbeard pirates want to rule the world, which connects with Imu anyway.

Loki and Harald’s flashbacks could easily take u around 20 chapters in total. Especially since there are still several plot threads left — Haralds horns, Lola, Harald’s death, Lokis travels, defeats by Shanks, and possibly some additions about Dragon or young Teach, etc.

I wonder if the flashbacks about the Ancient Kingdom will reach a similar number of chapters.

Whitebeard being under Rocks and ultimately being truly loyal to him is to establish greatness of Rocks.
This is similar to Roger having "dark king" Rayleigh, Whitebeard having Oden under him, Luffy having Zoro under him. They exist to hype up the greatness of the captain himself.

Rocks especially needed it in a way, since others like John, Ganzui and even BM wasn't loyal to Rocks.
I guess just Whitebeard, Kaido and maybe Shiki were loyal to him. That's about it?

I don't think this diminishes Whitebeard's character by the way, we knew he was a crewmember in his youth and his honour/bushido based persona fits here.
The only thing diminishing Whitebeard's character here is Shakky simping.

But yes, if WB wasn't under Rocks, I think Oda would've written him being more evil.
There is no way this dude is now Blackbeard's parallel lmao. Blackbeard is more slimy and evil. Rocks turned out to be a more of "good guy pirate" figure like Roger, WB, Shanks etc.
