It's funny how Akainu was introduced as the Admiral with the most emotional range, from the most reserved, to snarky etc. definitely the most calculating of the bunch.

He's turning into a caricature of himself just like every One Piece character eventually does. Panels are limited so Oda always wants to highlight that one standout aspect of the character but this results in characters becoming one tone. The Kizaru scene was a good change of pace for Akainu.

Yeah basically, Akainu was pretty much calm for all of MF except maybe the literal end. When Ace got away, everyone was freaking out and comfortable that they would get away hes just like:

Sorry, I forgot. Kizaru neg diffs Luffy who beat Kaido. He is actually the strongest.

So it's Kizaru > Aokiji > Garp/Roger/Rocks > Luffy > Kaido.

I wouldn't put Rocks there, Roger's equal was his underling, but the rest probably is more or less accurate yea.

I really want to put Akainu as the strongest, I really do. He's at the center of it all. But I just can't in my right mind until Oda explains how anyone can counter Kizaru fighting at his max potential. He simply created someone too broken and just has him play around or hold back severely to counter act this. We will probably see Akainu go all out, but never Kizaru cause even Oda knows he can't do that.

What will Kizaru even do EOS? His role in the endgame will probably be pretending to stall Zoro, give Luffy another Happy Meal when he's gassed out against Imu and will just do his usual business as an admiral in the post WG Marines.

In in the last OP chapter that closes the story and fasts forward 20 years to show what each and everyone's up to, Kizaru will be still seen sitting at his desk clipping his finger nails.

Maybe the problem you have is this headcanon ''max potential'' Kizaru bro. He doesnt and will never fight at light speed.
