The only image we have on Kidd's home island, establishes Kutsukku Island is, objectively, a wreck.

In 1163, we see Captain John plan to steal the treasure of God Valley... but, was this for himself?

Edward Newgate, despite his success, rarely paid for drinks, and was notoriously stingy in general: this was because he was funneling all of his funds to Sphinx Island, his hometown, to keep it safe.

John, despite his presumed wealth as a Pirate, does not dress flashy, wear jewelry, nor does he seem to drink expensive booze: honestly, for someone who loves money so much, Captain John seems to dress like a rather poor pirate, completely unlike a wealthy Pirate like Crocodile.

Why all the greed, and none of the luxury? Why would John refuse to share his treasure, if he's not spending it on himself?

Look at Kidd's homeland: if John is from Kutsukku Island, shit makes 100% sense. Captain John is treasure obsessed, because he wants to rebuild his homeland, and protect it from pirates.

IMO, Kutsukku Island has some history with government research, which is why it's full of destroyed technology/well made buildings.

Punk Hazard (Kidd = Punk themed) was NOT created by Vegapunk, he took it over: we know this from the Galley-Ra Shiprights who've been imprisoned their in Ice for WHO KNOWS how long.

And, what is Punk Hazard, now? Well, after Caesar, a scientist licensed by the WG at the time to run crazy experiments, blew up Punk Hazard, it was decommissioned. Akainu and Aokiji chose Punk Hazard, because it was a deserted government research facility no one wanted anything to do with. This was the same reason Caesar chose it as his base of operations, along with nostalgia/knowledge of the territory; Caesar knew that despite being "off limits" the chances of anyone being crazy enough to go their willingly was very low (LOL LUFFY).

I doubt Punk Hazard was the only official lab the WG had, that got abandoned due to crazy failures.

IMO, Kutsukku Island is a government lab, that constantly gets raided by Pirates/Kingdoms for resources/tech, and is also a dumping site for broken tech/ships and whatnot. A giant Tech Landfill.

Kutsukku Island was ran by gangs, according to Kidd's backstory; IMO, these gangs made money recycling/disposing of powerful technology.

John realized that the only way to stop this, was to make Kutsukku Island wealthy enough, to earn the respect of the world itself. Like Harald, I think Captain John wanted to become King of Kutsukku Island, and have them join the WG, so the Marines would protect them. Teach is trying to do the same thing, now.

If this is the case, John's greed was never personal: like Newgate, he wanted to take everything for his hometown, Kutsukku Island.

Captain John's Treasure would have been like Nami's treasure stash: he would literally rather die than reveal it, because his home, Kutsukku Island, NEEDS THAT MONEY.

There are two big differences between Law/Luffy and Kidd:

1. Kidd is much more focused on plunder/power, while Luffy and Law have their own aims that fall outside of general Pirate activity, with Law's focus being Doffy/the WG's evil and history of the D., and Luffy's focus being a dream so ridiculous most Pirates can't believe he'd even say something so crazy, even his own Crew.

2. Kidd HATES the Marines, while Law/Luffy were raised by Marines they love dearly.

IMO, Kidd has been stealing a shit ton over the years; we know Kidd attacks towns way more than Luffy/Law, and that's part of the reason his bounty was so high in Sabaody. Why is this? Like his father, Captain John, Kidd has been taking his money, and sending it back to Kutsukku Island. Since, unlike John, Kidd has a loyal crew, I'd imagine they're fine with this/many of them are also from Kutsukku Island.

This leads us to an important plot point, that Oda's been hiding for a long time: Captain John's Treasure, which John's Crew murdered over him not sharing, and which Buggy has sought for a long time.

In Impel Down, Buggy was given the Log Pose to Captain John's Treasure, by his Arch-Frenemy, Monkey D. Luffy:

So, Buggy must have Captain John's treasure, right? Well no... Tekking, the Geographer, has pointed out, that Buggy still needed to take a loan out from Crocodile to make Cross Guild.

If Buggy had found Captain John's Treasure already, then... why any of this? Why take a loan from CROCODILE?

We know Log Poses function through Magnetism. Many have speculated now, that John rigged the Log Pose to his treasure, using the Jika Fruit, so it couldn't be found.

Meaning?

Kidd has the Fruit that lets Buggy find Captain John's Treasure.

Kidd's aim here, remember, is to protect Kutsukku Island. If Kidd helps Buggy/Croc/Mihawk find Captain John's Treasure:

-Everyone involved gets rich
-Kidd/Killer/Heat/Wire get protection for their home, Kutsukku Island, 10000x superior to the Marines: the guy who fucking hunts them, Dracule Mihawk, and made Don Krieg's Fleet look like a bathtub of Rubber Duckies fighting Moby Dick without a condom
-Cross Guild gets a dude who can install RAILGUNS ONTO THEIR FUCKING BATTLESHIPS
-Mihawk/Buggy both have beef with Shanks on some levels, as does Crocodile, since Luffy, Shanks' protege, beat up Croc. Kidd has obvious Shanks' beef
-Kidd/Killer can give Cross Guild Road Poneglyph Rubbings (Killer's smart, he would have memorized them, at least, and some believe Killer has a Third Eye)

Oda stated Buggy/Mihawk/Crocodile are now in the One Piece sweepstakes, though both Buggy's crazy declaration, and then Vegapunk's announcement. Hawk and Croc more or less have to move on the One Piece, now.

If Killer IS a Three Eye Tribe member, then this gives Cross Guild a Poneglyph Reader, too.

Furthermore, Kidd DESPISES the Marines. At the Sabaody Auction House, Kidd immediately offered to go out and ruin them:

Kidd openly grins while describing Cross Guild's business model (despite his distaste for Buggy).

I think Kidd is actually a Rocks stan, like Loki: Kidd might hate Captain John, his own father, thinking he was a greedy bastard, and not knowing the truth, but, Rocks' legend inspiring Kidd wouldn't surprise me, they act very similar as Pirates.

Kidd has no respect for Buggy NOW. If Kidd found out Buggy was Rocks D. Xebec's Kid? That's a different story.

Through Cross Guild and the Log Pose containing the location of Captain John's Treasure, Kidd can gain Kutsukku's freedom/security from the Marines and WG who loved genociding people, and also maintain his own autonomy, as Mihawk and Croc are Business Partners/Allies, not in a hierarchy: if Kidd joined, as a 3 Billion Berry Pirate, he would be at the same tier as Mihawk and Croc, while potentially bring Killer in as a Poneglyph Reader. I doubt Kidd would be collecting Road Poneglyphs, with no way to read them. Like Saul, Robin's mentor, Killer is noted for his funny laugh.

Kidd's Fruit also allows him the ability to help Cross Guild build ships/weapons; which was part of Buggy's Delivery's original business model, arms shipments.

Captain Kidd will Fulfill Captain John's Will

Claim John's Treasure

Save Kutsukku Island

AND CRUSH THE CORRUPT NAVY WITH CROSS GUILD'S POWER

All Because Captain John... wanted to feed his Kidd

Because Moria is going to rejoin Wano as a Samurai Hero of the country, not Cross Guild.
I... I'm actually intrigued by that.
On the one hand, I find it a waste.
On the other, you gotta wonder how all that cast would interact: Momo as a proper Kozuki, Moria as the Kozuki who ran away, Yamato as a wannabe Kozuki, Otama as a Kozuki victim, Hiyori as a Kozuki extremist. There's a lot of interesting plotlines in Wano's future, even without Pluton... if only Oda chose to develop any of them.

Moria can let Wano be protected by it's literal "ghosts", IE, Zombies.

If Moria and Oden were close, and Moria chose to attack Kaido because he couldn't bear to see the suffering of his Home, this makes a lot of sense. Like, Moria spent HIS ENTIRE LIFE post-Kaido planning to return to Wano, to kill Kaido.

This isn't about taking over a country, it was about freeing Moria's Home from a Pirate who had run it into hell and back.

Moria fleeing isn't a big problem, look at the Scabbards, they did the same; the issue is Graverobbing the corpse of a National Hero, Ryuma, and his National Treasure, Shusui. THAT'S a big problem.

Onimaru's gonna bite Moria's ass.

Many people have also speculated Perona is an orphan child from Wano related to Toko, and that her parents died due to Kaido, with Moria then adopting her and taking her out of the country to free it.

In this case, Perona would likewise seek to return to Wano, now that it's free of Kaido, since it's Moria's Home, and most likely Perona's as well.

I believe Tama and Toko's Family fought against Kaido to an extent, and were killed as a result (with Tama's parents having known to have died in the slave mines).

In this case, Perona being the "Ghost Princess" would likely be alluding to the Ghosts of Wano, and Perona being legitimate Royalty of the country.

We can see the same hair, and the eyes are nearly identical, besides Toko's eyelashes being visible on the top of her eyes, while Persona's similar eyelashes are on the bottom of her eyes.

People think I'm memeing about Wano Act 4: no, we're going back. Pluton is just the tip of the iceberg.

We never even learned about Ryuma.

I hate half the fucking fanbase.

The girl who makes everyone depressed and the girl cursed by the SMILES byproducts to always laugh.
I see the vision!
Wano's Vision/Set-Up is FANTASTIC. But, the execution always ends up holding back/leaving a bad taste in the mouth.

Really hope Act 4 can put a neat bow-tie on most of people's problems with the arc.

Act 4 Kaido will piss off sooooooooooooooooo many people.

This is an interesting theory.
I just can't see John trusting the WG with his homeland.
I think he'd much rather reign on the country by himself.

Honestly, as a Kidd fan, I'm open to all kinds of storylines for Kidd in the future.
Simply because he seems to have so many possible connections: John, Man Marked by Flames, Rocks...
The only milestone I firmly believe should have a key role for Kidd is Lodestar. Because of his magnetism DF and symbolism.
