Here's the difference : WB was done after MF so Oda went all out to paint him in good light despite his shitty health to make his death all the more epic. Garp isn't done and might get more combat feats in the future.
After this flashback arguing againt Roger = Garp is just weird, Oda did everything to portray them as complete equals. It makes no sense for Roger to outpace Garp all of sudden when they were still equal after decades of piracy/marine life and in their late thirties.

I mean marineford battles were trash too if you check them did passionately. Whitebeard having heartattack every 2 minutes. Kizaru goofing around. Akainu chanelling his inner Terminator. Sengoku failing to kill pre time skip Luffy. Akainu rage baiting ace. Marco getting hand cuffed. Mihawk - vista equal clash.

Claiming Prime Garp > Prime WB based on their GV performances is a wild thing to do when Garp himself claimed WB as the king of the seas. When WB was quite obviously portrayed as the uncontested strongest once Roger died.

I just find it bizarre how Oda had to write Kaido and Luffy’s fight taking place in the sky, with Momonosuke carrying the island away from their clash — otherwise, the entire island would’ve been obliterated by their attacks. Yet here, Roger and Garp unleash their full power and nothing happens to the island… I’ve seen this kind of nonsense enough times already. When Kaido said that only Joy Boy could defeat him one day, he wasn’t joking — neither Roger nor Garp have anything like that.

- Because we already know from 966, They split skies and Oden recorded that shit.
- Xebec vs Harald doesn't even use Conqueror. I see no conqueror trails. On top of that not every AdCoC clash result in sky split.
- Garp and roger Hit each other unlike clashing.
