Kaido WB and rocks standing side by side was kinda tuff

I still think God Valley was good. I’d give it a solid 8/10. Last chapter was definitely the peak of it though. That felt more like the climax than this chapter.

Its not underrated its just that Yonko faps are very upset and butthurt , first they see their favorite as Xebec´s underlings and later they get side diffed by him while Garp and Roger are actually able to fight him.

Their bias is so strong they think that Meme can defeat Prime Garp.

Anyway, God Valley was alright

I was mostly right in assuming we wouldn’t get full fights (it’s a flashback, go back and look at Oda’s track record when it comes to drawing fights in flashbacks)

It was cool overall but not that great

I’d give it a 7/10 probably

Shakky being the main reason to GV is a bit lame

Rocks crew was a bit too soft overall and the tone changed for them

I would have liked if Xebec had really killed Eris in front of Teach or to have the Eris/Teach vs DR Xebec a bit longer. It was far too short and not dramatic enough

The rest was okay

(obviously Garling being clowned was unexpected)

overall the flashback was good but GV was the weakest part of it

Nah, God Valley itself was rushed with no special attention given to any character that isn't a D.

Likewise, almost every character besides Rocks has 1 personality trait they're allowed to show off, making them all one note.

Agenda aside, it is pretty lame that Roger, the king of the pirates, didn't actually use a gun in combination with his sword. I mean, pirates are literally most associated with both blades AND firearms. You would think Oda would have made Roger's real fighting style be that he uses both in a fight. Because of Chapter 0 where he IS holding both his sword and gun I always thought Roger had that sort of Edward Kenway style of fighting where he slips his gun out to shoot while he is sword fighting.

But nope, Roger is just another swordsman with a lot of Haki. There is nothing that really has him stand out combat wise even on his own crew. I mean RAYLEIGH is also a swordsman which is another reason why I thought Roger had to be more of the traditional and more well known idea of a pirate when it came to fights.

Nah I liked that tbh. Better expanded Rox’ motivation. I think the downfall is just from oda having too many important characters that he just had to ignore all of them
