I think he written okay for what he suppose to be .
He this cool pirate that said he want to take over the world and did some cool stuff .
Had this a grand plan , awesome crew , cool friendship harald etc etc and then give up it for family .
But in the end was a failure in everything he set out to do .
Rocks as character is more in service for BB and Imu form a story perspective for lore and bigger aspect of the story later on .

That's why I'm waiting to see actual chapter. But it sounds like a new ability because at no point during Wano it was said Kaido/BM COC was too strong for them to be hurt (it was their inner durability the issue). Or even with DR I doubt the gap between Xebec's haki and Roger/Garp's was higher than the gap of haki between yonko and R5.
Wouldn't be surprised if like for COA, you refine your use of COC and "coc coating"is only an application among others.

Someone like DR Xebec required absolute haki monsters to bring him down a combination of garp/Roger bringing him down. Sh are no where near this tier yet.


Considering how much imu was shaking in his boots at egghead from a simple joy boy haki release knot. I wouldn't die on this hill but to say someone or multiples with joy boy lvl haki will be more than enough for him.

Regen wasn’t why Garp and Roger couldn’t defeat Xebec so I don’t get your point?

And Imu was shaking cause he literally has Joyboy PTSD. He sensed Joyboys presence and it scared him. It wasn’t because of haki

CoC armor yeah possible. @Elder Lee Hung pointed out that initial Kaido exerts had him in Hybrid form coated in CoC.
