its been reiterated many times with zoro and luffy
The fact is, rocks was able to get two people of the calibre of Whitebeard and shiki (who from all evidence were loyal to him till he was defeated). Those two will go on to rival roger as individual captains.
If he was alive, he would 1000% be the stronger pirate.
Who tf gets to crown themselves king of an era off a 2 v1.

Glad it was at least an extended fight. With how the flashback has been I wouldn't have expected multi-chapters, so this was good. God Valley has been nice so far thankfully. I hope the rest of the flashback is good so it goes out on a high note. Shiki was pretty good though he could've done more, I appreciate that Oda gave most of the major Rocks members something going on (aside from Stussy and Gloriosa for some reason). I was hoping for more major fights even if off-panel, like Rayleigh and Gaban could've faced bigger threats but Rayleigh beating Sommers was nice. Dragon's role sounds great, love that he's trying to save people and at least try to rectify his mistakes. Shame we didn't get many extended fights, but for giving Rocks good characterization it succeeded. I hope we get a lot on the aftermath though, then some more on Harald and Loki and the conclusion to their story then back to the present.
I wonder if we'll see what happens to Eris now followed by Newgate taking Teach in or maybe later we'll get it when Teach is back to being a big focus.
I wish at least some of the Holy Knights left a mark, Rocks beating Garling and co., Whitebeard wrecking that one, Rayleigh whooping Sommers, is fine, but at least some could've faced off with other pirates. As is, they didn't really leave a mark.
