If I want to push the argument :
- the average One Piece citizen is fed propaganda all day long and is more or less not that smart
- this is the big execution of the Pirate King and everyone knows he is rich and dangerous and bad etc, lots of legends are surrounding him etc
People are curious.
Do you really think a single person would have trusted Roger if he had talked about Imu ?
I don’t think the person gathered here where here to hear that kind of thing at all.
It would indeed be far more effective to talk about his treasures and legends to make/gain traction, even in real life and given the moment the speech was made
They all believed Roger about his treasure given he was the pirate king and famous for his wealth and the one piece etc etc

If Oda won't go deeper into their abilities the old gen will remain CoC merchants and I doubt we will see them again.
New school has stuff like FS, ID CoA, magic swords and such.
Via Shanks and Coby (Kamusari/×- impact) Roger and Garp might get something like ID CoA confirmed atleast, but still.
It ain't looking too good for Roger right now, when I think about Shanks' feats tbh. Always thought that if one has to be it, that Shanks would then be the low budget haki god not the other way around. Will see

The same dipshits who kept saying Oden was as strong as present Kaido because there’s no way Kaido could have grown any stronger when he was already 39 are now saying that Roger, who was the same age as this version of Kaido in God Valley, somehow grew so much after that event that he ended up outpacing Garp who, unlike Oden (who died), remained just as active as Roger for the following decades. Make it make sense.
