I don't think it's about specific match ups so much as meeting the anticipation of the moment, whatever that looks like - so long as it's good.

People certainly expected to learn more about the crews and organisations involved. The Holy Knights showing has been meagre so far. I expected to see more of the Roger Pirates. People expected to see more dramatic dynamics between the Rocks Pirates in terms of conflicts and betrayal.

I can keep going but it's a complete fumble across the board for me.

The HKs will get more focus later

This is even commented on in the meta narrative, like WB has his Supreme grade blade, adcoc and his df already dafaq he is gonna grow some headcanon version of himself with the awakening he never showed?

Yeah. I'm willing to give WB a little more growth simply because he was a bit younger, however he's still very close to his prime again. 36 in god valley, vs prime at 38.
If I'm to headcanon, WB was probably high top tier in GV and peak top tier in his prime. While Roger and Garp are at their prime at 39/40 years old.

All these guys are at or near their prime. Even BM has advanced conqueror's and her DF for like 20 years. She's also not too far away from her prime, maybe a tier below her prime, that's about it I think.

The only dude who grew considerably stronger since GV was Kaido.
