Even if he does unless there’s a distinction made in story it doesn’t necessarily matter at the moment
At least so far he doesn’t use anything besides his sword. While he doesn’t seem to have a specific sword style and hasn’t outright claimed to be one I would still consider him one. Again unless oda goes out his way to show him using more than just his blade and/or specifies a difference

At the moment unless oda goes out of his way to differentiate Roger I’d say he’s a swordsman

I haven’t had a problem with Zoro surpassing Roger/Whitebeard for a while tbh. Zoro and Sanji are likely going to surpass your Kaido and Linlin, Whitebeard and Shiki, and obviously Rayleigh and Gaban etc
Roger and Shanks do lowkey give Zoro Sanji vibes too so them surpassing them isn’t the craziest

No touch has always been a CoA barrier, what I don't get is what would be its use for Garp in attacks he's landing clean? Wouldn't he rather use his fists that he's trained to punch really hard with, to do just that? Why add a barrier for his opponent protecting him from his fist?

Always thought Garp would not use barriers when fighting in CQC, but he used one against Roger. I guess he was in clash mode.

Xebec’s clash with Harald in 1155 was the best Haki clash in the manga. Kuzan and Garp destroyed buildings with their Haki but Xebec and Harald’s Haki spreading over 5 kilometers was Oda’s way of showing us that we’ve never seen pirates on this level before.

The fact it was ambiguous prevent it from being a true Shankusu feat. His COC burst against Aramaki did not split the sky, and I don't think he was holding back.
