Tbh, the moment Zoro got confirmed had CoC, its kinda already proven that guys who used Sword is a Swordsman.

I just rewatch avatar book 3, and Pindao who is the Greatest Swordsman in the Fire Nations who never lost a single battle said that Swordsman true quality are in their "Creativity" (How Swordsman uses tech with haki if we on OP world), "Versatility", and "Intelegent", Also The Way of Sword (depending on any nations for example if its japan its Bushido) does not belong to any single nation, that means multiple places in OP had their own way of sword or we can call it, Swordsmanship. They are still Swordsman but their technique and way of fight is different.

Besides, if Roger shown any Haki Sussano'o like Asura or whatever Zoro does with the myth/animal creature on his named attack, thats gonna confirm that Roger is a swordsman with Haki anyway. Just like How Kaido even mentioned CoC when he saw Zoro Asura.
