Controversial Elon Musk set to become the first trillionaire.

#41
I mean Elon is very wealthy and influential so him being the first trillionaire is not surprising. In fact, I'm more surprised that he isn't one already.
This is trick though.

Probably you people already know how there are wealthier people that doesn't shows up on those richiest people of the world lists, they pay the magazines to not being showed or there isn't info about their fortune.

Also when people do the math, figures from the past were way wealthier than Elon Musk is today.

And this fortune those people have, Elon, Bill Gates etc, is a trick one because they are valued over their stocks. They would never be able to capitalize all that money though.

Interest is criminal and grand theft. The rich keeps getting richer and the rest go from poor to poorer each passing second. And funny thing is, instead of fixing the main issue, people are more concerned about labels and how people dress and toilet politics.
Rich getting richer doesn't makes the poor poorer. Pretty much the opposite. Is it wrong to think about wealthness just by counting dollars. People nowadays lives much better than before. We can afford things much cheaper or that doesn't even existed before.

"Oh but at the 60s it was much more cheaper to buy a house and everything inside it, and a car, and..."

Yes but what was the technology of the day and the technology of now? You can buy an old car from the 60s today (or maybe not because it is probably a collection item now) but not a new car from 2025 because the technology is much better. Think about how phones used to be used only by rich and now even homless have it.

No human should possess that much wealth. Bring in the socialists.
Who are you to decide?

There is another way to look at it. These people have way more than they need. After the first few millions, there is practically not much difference between Elon Musk and the millionaire. You can only eat so many steaks a day.
They worked for it. They studied, they invested their money, they lost nights of partying to do so.

Its time the rich paid up
They already do. The rich pay more than anyone else. Of course if you compare what they pay and what they earn they won't be the highest but that's because how governaments are taxing. If % is the issue, then just tax income. If you tax a product, rich and poor will pay the same amount of tax in that product and since the rich have more money they will pay less % of their income.

Are you a millionaire or something? Why would someone oppose taxing the rich unless they are super wealthy themselves?
Because history shows how taxing the rich doesn't work, make them leave, economy slows down, governament earns less with it.

Nobody should have a billion dollars, let alone a trillion.
Who are you to decide

Im actually not against billionaires (governments have 10s of trillions of dollars so individuals having a tiny portion of that isn't really a big deal) provided there's bans on political bribes/lobbying (there isn't).

But I don't think people realize how much a trillion actually is. That's getting to the point where you have similar wealth to a state and just you moving around can destroy economies (historically it's like Mansa Musa causing insane inflation in local towns just by visiting and spending - and btw he wasn't even a full trillionaire adjusting for inflation).

Should people with comparable wealth to a sovereign that can destroy your economy casually exist? Obviously not lmao
How the hell someone being rich can destroy an economy? Pretty much the opposite. US is the richest country and has the most amount of billionaires. No wonder the poorest country is probably the one with not even a single billionaire on it.

Old technology was built to last, modern shit breaks after a year because of planned obsolescence.

Nice try trillionaire apologist

I'm not against the rich you know. As much as many of today's world problems are the consequences of the rich's greed for power, they are also the most people capable of doing good in the world, because they are the ones with the most means to affect change to the world. So not every rich person is evil. My gripe is with interest, the backbone of today's financial system. When I say the rich keep getting richer while the poor keep getting poorer is mainly because of interest and fraudulent loans and many such practices. Remove interest and many injustices will be rectified.

And as cost of living increases as the same time as their wealth so should their tax burden
They already pay more. If you push them too much they will leave and your life will get worse.

I agree with most of it. But about interest... You are not obligate to borrow money in order to pay those interests. So what you are complaining here? I don't know where are you but interest in US is a joke. In Japan as well. Brazil has real interest problem.

You do know that interest is the main method that the rich keep getting richer right? Why do you think they keep their assets in shares and stocks and not actual cash? It's so they wouldn't pay tax on it number one, and to keep getting exorbitant loans for their assets value that they will never pay. It's a closed system of borrowing to infinity, while the average people are stuck neck deep in debt slavery and dimishing value for their wealth in a fiat cash society, which in itself is the epitome of interest and daytime robery.

So your problem is not the poor keeping poor but the rich getting richer. So you don't want a better world you just don't want to see anyone doing better than you. That's envy.

No reasonable person here wants to for 99% tax. If you follow inflation at most it be a 2% increase
Pretty sure the communists wants even more than 100% tax.

And what the inflation has to do with raising tax?

Communist have no political power

cost of goods and services increase? It’s an easy correlation. Our government has to pay for said services

Don't twist my words into your narrow world view. I said interest is a robbery plain and simple. It's the purest kind of injustice in this world. Now if someone gets rich in a clean way, I'm all for it and more power to him, but intest is rich people robbing the poor and keeping them poor. That's not envy, it's common sense and pointing the obvious.

I agree with this. I think interest should be based upon inflation and not arbitrary percentages that keep stacking.
Again, communist have 0 political power in the west
But they do have power in Latin America, Africa, Asia and Eurasia.
Isn't Saudi royal family also a trillionaire?

Idk how much Windsor assets are worth in total.
ofc not, hunger is more a geopolitical problem.

The problem with world hunger isn’t money, it’s logistics.
I agree. We have enough food being produced.
