zoro used haki back in alabaster. and shank used coc in the first chapter.

he obviously had the ideas from the start.

So it's even more trash that he never put any effort into it and just made it a generic "hit harder = more power" system in the end.

I doubt haki the power system was planned this far out since Luffy didn’t have access to that and Mantra was used immediately after this scene instead of “Haki.”
