Everyone's told him the WG is fishy and can't be trusted yet he never did anything about it.
who’s every one? The only guy who told him something close to this was Xebec and all xebec did was warn him that the WG hates the giants

guess what? The giants spent years terrorizing the seas, from Haralds POV he thinks the WG has very good reason to distrust the giants therefore he’s apologizing for it

stop trying to assume he has all the information we have.

Why do people keep saying this lol

Harald knows the World Government is fucked up

The whole point is that despite knowing that he still believes the only way Elbaf can succeed is through becoming a member of their fold

Harald isn’t blind he’s just trying to be realistic. He’s still a dumbass but he isn’t blind
and?

we are calling him out for being a dumbfuck

what's the problem here?

Hating on Harald just shows peak lack of reading comprehension. He literally does not know the WG is led by a devil like creature that wishes to eliminate everybody

I can’t wait til the booktok girlies reach elbaf so we can have actual intelligent people reading this story
Rocks tells him straight up that the WG is carrying out a genocide on his home island and he thinks this is an organization he should become a slave for

Pot Goblin

Heisenbunny
Whats presumably left in the least:

- Shanks and Harald meeting before his death and what Shanks wanted to talk about.
- Shanks presumably meeting his brother and father if Oda wants to elaborate on it
- Harald's death and the truth behind it
- Loki eating his DF (or whoever stole it and gave it to him?) And escaping Elbaf
- His pirating over 8 years (when Lola rejects him)
- When Shanks defeats him 6 years prior (which funny enough, coincides when Shanks became a Yonko whatver that means)

Thats what I see for now. Idk if he'll do Shanks and Blackbeard's childhoods now or save it for later. Let alone the fares of the rest of the Rocks pirates.
I think he'll save the childhoods for later when those two confront each other again especially as the flashback is starting to run a bit long already

Lol are you trolling or something?
Harald is an objectively stupid character. Everyone's told him the WG is fishy and can't be trusted yet he never did anything about it.
What do you want Harald to do about it exactly? Rebel against them along with his entire nation and get folded like laundry?

People have to remember that even if Harald aligned himself with Rocks (which he wouldn’t do, he’s a King he can’t be selfish anymore) the plan still wouldn’t be complete

Rocks still didn't have the fruit he was supposed to eat, they still hadn’t found the frozen giants, and they didn’t have any of the ancient weapons

It was cooked from the start

The World Government is famous for being downright comically racist and evil, the only time they ever even tolerate people like Fishmen or Giants is specifically when they're making deals with them to try and stop them from absolutely hating their guts, and even then that rarely works out (Jinbe still ended up leaving the Warlords after all).
There's NO REASON to trust the World Government. Harald is just dumb and gullible

He doesn't need to rebel, but he could just not listen to the WG's nonsense and not bend over backwards for them knowing they very, very likely won't do anything to actually help him and his nation achieve their goals.
