In this case oda is focusing the island not people or anything. When oda focuses on people like BM falling from the island , the scaling can be debated as BM appears as large as horns of the island. But in this case the island is in focus.
We saw that when the island was in the "focus", flower capital could fit several Onigashima in his center.

Onigashima is one of the only islands in the series to get called "small" in canon

The scaling is literally perspective. Just a few chapters later we see the SHs cross that bridge and it wasn’t as big

That is the point. When oda focuses on people , he doesn't care about scaling. When kidd threw BM out of onigashima , she appears as large as onigashima's horns for example. In the picture I posted , oda is focusing on island first and not the people.

So your point is that Oda’s sizing is inconsistent? Why are we even using it to scale vs other verses?
