Gooner valley. Stupidest reason for everyone to gather.
Rocks and every pirate being friends instead of actual pirates. No anonymity between any of them.

Garp reaaaalllly isn't redeemed by the way. He's still a bum for achieving nothing and staying in the navy for 30 years.
17 year old Dragon did more and is still doing alot more. Fujitora did more in 6 months.

Where I agree with you is that Oda will have hugeee difficulties to handle that many top tiers during the last war

Although - imagine if we hadn't seen the madness we witnessed on Egg Head and Elbaf before - like - WOW IMU TOOK CONTROL OF SATURN - yes but we've seen it before - WOW Saturn is a giant arachnid - yes we already knew that - WOW Garp and Roger together ?!?!?!? Yea. etc. etc.
Imagine if we didin't get telegraphic summary of events from chapter 957 - then some moments would definitely have had a bigger impact.
I really enjoyed it anyway, because we got a lot of interesting stuff, and some of the best action scenes in history.

The good:
- Young Kaido and Shiki were hilarious
- Wragon looks like a hero now
- Blackbeard's mom and dad are awesome
- WB got some hype moments, looked pretty good powerscaling wise and the scenes with him, Kaido and Rocks were pretty sweet
- Silver Axe's entrance
- Getting more insight and lore about the world and characters
- Roger actually has a personality that isn't Gol D Luffy
- Garling being a comically evil punching bag
- Garp maintained the agenda and his determination to protect weaker marines actually explains his motivations
- Tiny Katakuri aura farming
- End of the myth of old gen superiority; older top tiers are not far above mid gen and this fb proves it IMO
- Imu actually did something!
- I actually like Harald. People call him a retard but IMO him doubling down makes sense. He probably knew that Rocks being a lawless berserker would make him a poor king, and seeing him ultimately be destroyed at GV would have convinced him that it was better for his people to remain with the WG. He's still a people pleasing coward, but not a complete moron IMO.
The bad:
- Shakky subplot. I wouldn't even mind it so much if it wasn't so mediocre in execution. It's not even unbelievable since men have gone to war over women before but the execution is bad
Also young Shakky doesn't look that hot at all frankly.
- WB being a gooner
- WB being a runner
- WB being a paranoid flake and dipping the moment after Rocks attacks
- Fuck it, WB should not have been a Rocks member at all. Or Lolden's "big bro". Oda should've done right by Oyaji and left him as a badass powerful pirate captain who was coexisting with Rocks and Roger.
Hell he could even have had Sengoku be responsible for battling WB elsewhere while GV was ongoing, which would establish them as "powerful bystanders"
- Speaking of, Sengoku is now a giant golden wagecuck who is literally everything Kizaru's been slandered for. Y u do this Oda?
- Our opponent has more haki so lets beat him with even more haki. Much creative, yay!

- ONE scene of dialogue between Dragon and Garp, and it sounds like an edgy teen going I hAtE yOu to his uninterested father
- Everything about Silver Axe after being introduced.
- Where are the Admirals of the time? What is Kong doing? Why is Garp the only relevant Marine Oda pls.

As a reader, your plot savvy makes you blind to character perspectives. Who is Imu?
Ed wouldn't know if the change was voluntary or permanent and clearly didn't possess the power to do anything about it. It took every drop of strength from Roger and Garp combined, but they had different motivations and it's not like they had much beyond a clue despite the voice of all things.
Brothers and sisters is just something you made up. It was not his crew and not the way Rocks created his structure; actually the opposite. There's a problem in assuming Ed didn't change in character or strength in all those years, and that he had the same standards as a member that he did as his own captain.
Confirmed conquerors: Linlin, Kaido, Ed, Gaban, and Ray. They all missed it which is a deliberate point, Garp and Roger only caught it because they're blessed with a particular ability.
Did Ed reason with Squard? Well yes, because even if we assume he didn't change in 36 years we also have the fact that Squard was able to explain his motivation.

As I said 2 and 1 star never happened for entire plot point butvery short moments. For ex, ⭐ ⭐ > Happened when Nami was aggressed by Absalom in the shower ⭐ > The representation of Queers in Kamabaka Queendom, but I'm softer on that now. ⭐⭐⭐ > Happened with PARTS (only parts) of F.Island when I was disagreeing with Oda's message. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ > Would less liked Arcs..
Basically, One Piece for me is always between ⭐⭐⭐⭐ and ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ . There is almost nothing that is not "fun" for me in OP. I was reading it when I was 12 the same way that I read chapters now. Everything disappear and I'm a kid again. I hold very little expectations outside of the story and I'm letting myself be surprised by everything even when I have a major agenda, I don't get fazed.
The Rocks crew was never Newgate's family. I don't know why you guyz are seeking a resistance from Whitebeard where there shouldn't be one. Whitebeard saw Xebec attack him, with the pattern of the crew and the fact that he probably never trusted him, he fought back and dipped, that's logical. You could question why he didn't question but as I said, character are human, not machine, they make errors.
Yup, that would be true a lot of times. BUt expectations and bad reading environment is also at play. Althought it is really funny to me that you guyz are treating God valley like an arc when in reality it was never teased like it and it's part of a flashback. Thus any kind of expectations related to a potential arc treatment has no value here. I mean look at that: >>
When something meant to be funny (Big Mom and Kaido's debt) > and IS funny.. becomes disliked because it doesn't met the expectations of someone who for some reason wanted to see a lot of drama... then the problem is not the story, but the reading experience that is corrupted by the invention of headcanons. (and I'm not going over the entire list, it's everywhere for other reasons)

I mean at this point, you guyz are completely compromising and corrupting your reading experience by either a bad environment, a missplaced edgyness, a bad analysis (like here, if you analyze an inspiration like this then you can literally trash on the entirety of Storytelling in existence), bad or illegitimate expectations, complete lack of understanding.. EVERYTHING will be trashed on no matter.
