Naruto is so fucking amazing man. I could write essays on characters, emotional moments, the soundtrack, great fights in it etc. Strategy, stakes, tension etc. Naruto delivered so much, so hard. It's no wonder it was so widely beloved even across the world. The days of the big 3 were truly the best, we were so spoiled back then. It really was the pinnacle of anime and manga, despite all the lows, the slumps and such too.

I kinda really took ongoing series for granted too, having something continuous to watch every week at least. And also having SO MUCH to binge if it was far enough too. I remember binging hundreds of Naruto episodes and chapters back in the day before I caught up, man....

I completely lost my mind when this came out and Shippuden happened:

The post timeskip, I first saw the post TS stuff in the manga but seeing it all animated instead was a completely surreal, all new kind of experience that made me fall in love with the series all over again too.

Oh no, my Narutardism is actually returning after all, I knew it would happen the longer I spent here, it was inevitable, unavoidable lmao.

Naruto had so many fucking amazing OPs and EDs that I still listen to this day and the GODLIEST soundtrack aside from Fairy Tail too and a lot of Bleach too at least . It added so much to the experience. The Narutimate Accel games provided SO MUCH insane hype to the characters too, made them look like extreme badasses even more than the Pirate Warriors games amazingly do with One Piece characters too ofc.

Naruto's characters were so iconic, so well written and memorable, I loved them so much from early on and that sold me hard on the series. Naruto was such a likeable, relatable, tragic MC despite how obnoxiously annoying, loud and attention seeking he was but he had a heart of gold and his backstory perfectly explained why he was like that. The Sasuke and Uchiha obsession both in-story and outside of it, including by Kishi and the fanbase got on my nerves but I did always find Sasuke to be a really tragic and thus sympathetic character despite his outright shittiness at times. It's not like he wasn't justified nor unable to be understood why too.

Fuck man, the memories are slowly comig back to me, Naruto was the wildest, most intense, gripping rollercoaster of its time, it balanced and gave so much. The legendary hundreds of episodes of filler literally that traumatised us all too lol, literally 80 episodes of consecutive filler during the worst of it too.

But I wouldn't change a thing either, it would stop the series being what it is despite all the major flaws it has too. And thus I stretch that to Bleach, Fairy Tail, One Piece and other series too. Art is art after all.

God knows I've lost count of the amount of times Naruto made me fucking cry, made me cry harder than even "Dragon Bawl" did lmao. Although to be fair, the ending of DB GT made me fucking cry hard and lowkey traumatised me as a kid lmao. I can't believe GT is almost 30 years old too, WTF MAN!?

Why did the end of GT traumatize you? I though it was pretty touching. I guess the passing of time being so extreme?

Nah it was just seeing Kid Goku flying away on Shenron. IIRC it was said he could never return or something like that? So that really upset me.

But seeing his spirit visit his descendant 100 years later with an elderly Pan and thus we have Goku Jr and Vegeta Jr, that really was a beautiful, profound moment though.

I think it was because death was a recent experience for me IRL at the time and DBGT was some of my biggest escapism too. I was so attached to Goku at this point and wanted to be just like him and seeing him "die for good" this time, instead of going to heaven and chilling there and inevitably returning by the Dragonballs and such, it just hit differently this time. Probably because of the whole storyline of the Dragonballs turning corrupted and thus evil because of too much wish abuse throughout the franchise too? Idk it just really upset me a lot lol

Piccolos death was brutal and tragic too, seeing old Krillin die with 18 as his wife and his baby daughter too, that really hit hard as well.

I've not seen GT in almost 2 decades now maybe so I'm going by very loose memory here too.

I’m telling you man Naruto was not something you’d expect to be written in the 21st century. It’s just that good. I swear the animation studio worked so hard too. It’s like when every genius in class comes together for a group project. I used to be hospitalized for NMO and Toonami showed like final valley fight between Naruto and Sasuke. I cried cuz I wanted Sasuke to go back to the village. Sasuke turning evil and being with Orochimaru is like ALL I knew about Naruto. The songs in Naruto are just better man. I can’t listen to them too often cuz I know I’ll start getting emotional about a certain part of my life.

I played Ninja Council 4 and learned everything up till the Heavens bridge Arc. Then I watched Shikamaru vs Hidan on Disney XD and realized Holy shit this shit is still flame??? Mind you I was an avid One Piece fan as well by then. Nothing in my eyes will replace Naruto idc.

since I never finished the manga all the way through I still kinda thought Orochimaru was gonna be the main villain lol. Sasori in Ninja Council 4 Was DOPE ASF. AND YES I REMEMBER WHEN SHIPPUUDEN Came out. I had the DVD of the first 3 episodes.

Bro Deidara vs Gaara. Now that’s how you start a sequel series.

I remember this girl had the Naruto trading card game or whatever and didn’t let me see them :(

Naruto may have been my biggest obsession if not for One Piece but looking back on it not a single arc of Post-TS matched my emotions when I first heard and watched the Opening “Closer”. Was Team 7 finally back? Idk man I guess I think Konoha is more compelling of a setting to this day.
