Speculations So did Rayleigh and Gaban fight the God's Knights off-screen?

Both Rayleigh and Gaban are aware that Rocks is dead. Which means they either witnessed that bum Garlic sneaking him or saw the body itself...

...Which leads me to my next point, they're running away. There's always the possibility that the island started collapsing and that's why everybody is running but I don't see how Garlic and his bums wouldn't take the opportunity to kill both Garp and Roger. Most likely, Ray and Gaban made it just in time and clashed briefly with them.

Runleigh and Gaban realized they couldnt sneak attack the holy knights plus they had no AdCoC so they decided to hightail it out of there

Or Ray&Gaban saw Garling committing the killing which also begs the question why there was no clash between them. Had there been a clash wouldn't Garp & Roger be aware? In the panel they are awake, did the running wake them up or were they conscious when Ray&Gaban picked them up?
It feels like a bit of a plothole honestly.

I imagine that they’re will be another flashback later that shows what happened when they rescued Garp and Roger. That scene will probably better help to explain how to properly fight them. I believe that Oda is just holding on to that key piece of info until it’s immediately relevant to the strawhats.

later on we see Rayleigh with some bandages. Even in these panels Ray has some scratches. last we seen was he 1 shotted that guy and ran away.
