I wonder what happens if the part where the HKs / Gorosei receive the marking was removed.
Since Saint Shanks presumably lost the mark of the abyss after the seaking tore his arm apart, is it safe to assume that if someone targeted the place where they received their mark, and thus removing it, it could lead to them losing their immortality ?
Maybe it could be Oda's way to find an alternative in their defeats outside of delivering adcoc to everyone

I had this statement in mind when Oda dropped the legendary convo between Dragon and his dad.

Why I keep telling people, Garp never pretends to be "im the greatest good guy ever", the dude knows what he's doing and who he's indirectly serving. Yet people still push non-sense like "WHY ISNT GARP LIKE FUJITORA?!! HE SUCH A HYPOCRITE!!"

They are subtle changes fitting a 10-day fight to the death, new scars on his face, and assuming a new role which has much more responsibility than Admiral position

Deskainu has shown us only his overworked self, obviously we will see that more intelligent side of his once he is leading in battle, that is to say doing what he does best
I love how One Piece fans made up Garp and Sengoku into being "super goody goody marines", when pre-TS it's already established they're willing to stay in the marines acknowledging how fucked up the CD are. This flashback only cementing it.
If you were Sengoku or Garp fan cause you thought they were these super duper good guys, instead of just normal military men with moral standards. You weren't a true fan, sorry to say.

My point of Issho being a Garp who politically cares n actively is willing to change shit drastically and Sakazuki being a Sengoku who is more active and extreme, continues to be right. People often forget akin to Garp, Issho hates pirates/criminals more than Sakazuki. Just as Garp does not fuck with pirates while Sengoku is willing to tolerate for the greater cause or w.e

People seem to think Garp is directly complicit for the atrocities commited by the CDs cause the marine affiliated with WG... but I'm pretty sure all he ever did is beating the shit out of pirates and outlaws.
If we're going to blame by association, then we might as well shit on every country that is part of the WG, including Coba's Alabasta or or King Riku's Dressrosa
