Your points are honestly fair. Interestingly, Shanks has played a pivotal role in Kidd’s story directly and indirectly.
I disagree tho regarding the misplaced grudge. Even if it was misplaced, i still think he should go after Shanks.
I guess part of this also hinges on how exactly kidd lost his arm. I sincerely hope Oda reveals this one day what happened. Depending on the circumstances of it, could mean quite a bit. I have some theories but haven't delved too much into it. I could see kidd giving up his arm for his crew or maybe he just straight up picked a fight a lost bad, idk..
The second part of this is the conflict that happened outside of Elbaf. You are right that his ship can always be rebuilt. But at the end of the day, Shanks/Giants were the ones who destroyed it. And that has been Kidd's ship since he's been introduced into the story. His biggest losses to this date, outside of kaido, is to Shanks. I just can't see kid returning and not wanting to go back after Shanks, even if he learns later it was misguided. And in the elbaf scenario I believe conflict was going to happen regardless. Shanks was not going to let kidd sail by without giving his poneglyphs. And Kidd is a conqueror so he would fight no matter what.
If he needs to go after Shamrocks and Shanks then that should happen. Shanks has given him his biggest loss to date, he needs to go after him.
I think we just view it differently. Honestly, your points make sense and seem more likely, but i guess we'll see what happens.

I thought Kaidou was weaker than Hanafuda, but here he is being grouped together with Roger and conquering the seas.

CoC was a much rarer ability back then. People couldn't fathom someone other than the strongest marines/pirate captains having it back then. In fact, Zoro/Mihawk stans didn't believe it either. They used to vehemently deny the existence of CoC applications outside of knocking fodder out and pretend like it was useless because even they didn't think Zoro would have it so they just downplayed the ability to upscale Zoro compared to Luffy. Zoro unlocking it did put that thing to bed though.

Mihawk was always basically guaranteed to have it (to me) due to proximity to Shanks and his title
Though I’ll admit that it wasn’t seen as a guarantee because initially we didn’t know CoC could do anything besides knock out fodder. That’s the main reason why people weren’t pressed to put every single strong character in the CoC category
As soon as ACoC became a thing it was over. Every fruitless top tier was guaranteed to have it in their arsenal
