Guess the anime really boosted Dandadan popularity even more. Deserved.

Blue Lock being 4th wasn't what I was expecting considering it was the best selling manga of 2023, but top 4 is still good nonetheless.

Kingdom top 5 noice!:Smug_Ki:

Glad to see Blue Box, The Apothecary Diaries and Fragrance Flower booming in the top 10 though.:datas:

Arent there new good things..op and kingdom Are going on since years
It’s definitely getting scary for physical manga as a whole

If you look at the top 10 it’s gonna be very very rough in the “near” future

One Piece is in the final saga, JJK ended, MHA ended, Sakamoto Days is more than likely in the final stretch

To top it all off the author of Kingdom recently confirmed that he isn’t going past the unification of China so that significantly reduced Kingdom’s runtime

Unless mangaka start pumping out more long running hits it’s gonna be pretty bad

Nice. I still remember the year one piece sold almost 40 million copies. I guess even Japan is moving away from paper.

im also happy to see Dandadan doing so well. Best new-gen shonen in the last 10 years by far and away.

JJK at number 2 despite ending in September 2024 :kobeha:

How cooked is the manga industry, are all the new manga really that bad?
This new generation of young men and to certain extent women are less social and more technology driven and reliant.

Both Miyazaki and Hideaki Anno used to say that if you didn’t have any other hobbies and you weren’t interested in other people, you shouldn’t get into this industry. Cuz a lot of this up and comers are not really interested in telling stories, but simply and exclusively in drawing cool shit.

No they aren't, from what I can tell, physical manga is in a decline in Japan.

Digital Manga sales apparently have increased, also Oricon only tracks physical manga sales not digital.

Also it's not that any of the new manga are bad, but Japan just loves JJK a lot.

They are i am so disappointed for japan if things go like this anime indistury may end.
Imagine thinking that anime industry will end in Japan.:suresure:
