Powers & Abilities Sanji used ACoC to kick Kizaru’s beam

Yeah, most people we’ve seen have either redirected Kizaru’s lasers by kicking his leg as he fires it or straight up dodge after the fact. To outright kick the beam as it’s flying towards you hasn’t happened at all before. Sanji would have to be fast enough to react to the beam(which isn’t that impressive since CoO would allow many characters to react) but what’s impressive is the ability to actually kick the element away(light isn’t physical) so to be able to kick it away so casually is crazy on so many levels.

Vegapunk has technology on Egghead that allows you to physically hit a hologram. I just always assumed that’s how Sanji did that. I mean they never showed us Vegapunk giving it to Sanji, but Oda infamously has a lot happen off panel.

Gabum and Sanji share like 2 parallels in the whole fucking story. So using Gaban to upscale Sanji doesn't have any sense because bar two things they don't share any similarities. Plus Gaban doesn't have science powers like S4nji which is already a huge difference
Roger - Luffy - Different fighting styles - Both have acoc
Ray - Zoro - Different sword styles - Both have acoc
Gaban - Sanji - Different fighting styles - But one won't have acoc :choppawhat:

We know it involves his exoskeleton at the very least, since he activated it to kick the laser. But the exoskeleton only explains how he wasn't hurt, it doesn't explain how he could physically interact with light, and it was made very clear what he did is supposed to be impossible. It's a very rare ability that even top tiers typically don't have, that leaves out CoA and CoC. PoL makes the most sense imo.

Amazing how stubborn some people can be, they keep repeating the same points even if you proved them wrong in the past and they ended up admitting it's a unique feat not comparable to cutting flames/water in the OPverse. It's like Groundhog Day, always resorting to the same points again and again and forgetting previous discussions that debunked them.

"it's not that special, it's like cutting fire or water and it's just a fantasy world"
"the way characters reacted when Sanji kicked the laser makes it clear it's a harder and more unique feat even within the internal logic of this fantasy world"
"yeah, I know that" (they actually didn't but it's apparently better than saying "point taken")

*some time passes*

"it's exactly like cutting fire or water, nothing special about it, just intangible stuff"

:willight:

There's no point in discussing those things if you're not willing to make your point of view evolve on some things you might get wrong sometimes, you can at least concede your argument is factually invalid without changing your mind altogether. Be an adult.

Sanji’s feat of kicking Kizaru’s laser was portrayed as an impossibility.

Sanji said he was capable of such a feat due to “love”, but nothing suggests this is an actual explanation for Sanji’s ability. Rather it is simply Sanji’s own idea of what happened.

From a story perspective however, it makes the most sense if it was conquerors. Sanji needs to unlock conquerors in Elbaf. Dorry and Brogy were domi reversi’d, and Sanji will probably need to use CoC to break the curse, just like Roger and Garp did to Rocks.

Sanji getting it out of nowhere would make no sense. Hence the most logical way for Oda to do it is by simply tying Sanji’s “love” abilities to CoC.

Not sure if DJ is really CoC because tbh that looks more like a lineage factor power. But kicking a DF-created beam is something an ACoC user should be able to do.

Sentomaru, an ACoA user, fought Kizaru and couldn’t do it. And Kizaru was sweating when he saw Sanji do it, just like Kaido after being scarred by Zoro on the roof.

I think Sanji will have a similar moment in Elbaf, doing something impossible and attributing it to love, only for someone to instead tell him it was conqueror’s.
I mean only Rayleigh has actually kicked Light. And he has conquerors , BUT I will say, if something is Conquerors in 2025 Oda will Draw that Black Lightning /Black Streaks, we know that Forsure.

Why is the cutting fire part ignored lol? It's a valid counterargument regardless. Both involve interacting with something that's typically intangible
