I'll humor you here. Let's say everything works out and the police are defunded and disbanded. What then?
What happens if tragedies like 9/11 happen again? What do we do without the police to help there?
What about a shooter holding a school hostage?
We must not only defund and disband, we must also create a place where all the crimes do not happen. It won't be easy (although technically it could be). Try creating a place for boys to grow postively in a less patriarcal society, desintistualize care, create a peer help network, push for less guns, reform schools and you will see less school shootings. This is but an exemple of thousands of things that could be done.

Thinking the problems in terms of systems = thinking the solutions in terms of systems:

I'm sending you back to these three fundamental videos (8 min each):

And if things happens anyway, there are other ways than the Police. It's a matter of being creative and allowing society to change

You know what's fascinating? You have this ability to find really insightful articles but refuse to actually read them and horribly misquoted them. You're like those Wikipedia authors who provide sources but when I read the source link it says something completely different.
Are you doing this on purpose or do you really have no reading comprehension?

This is an article on the origins and history of the police with focus on the USA.
You read this article and go 'all cops are bastards'

Well.. the point of the article is that the Police is a systemic problem which is rooted in its colonial, feudal and racist roots and can't be reformed from the inside.

The article is a demonstration of Police Abolitionnist arguments with a touch of "we must change things drastically first" at the end

Wdym?

:kaidowhat:

If you are talking about that:
>>
To sum up : The Police is a feudal tool of repression used by capitalism and the ruling class in order to maintain its assets and racist system or imperialist agenda. The police's job is not peace, it's the order of those in power and those who own the means of productions. Being in the police means serving THEM against US.
I know it's not in the article, this is me creating a conclusion adding the informations of the article to a marxist lens. no more, no less.

"ACAB" is the result of this conclusion.

I believe that if you knew or understood what I understand at the moment, you would be enraged and you would ask for a revolution to start tomorrow.
"If you dont cry at the funeral, you obviously never cared about that person nor have sympathy". There it is.

Once judging how people should feel and act. Them not acting the way you want doesnt mean they dont understand. Always trying to remove individuality and the human condition.
