That was my point, if you're gonna clown Mihawk for not fighting any "real top tiers" then I don't see why you can't do the same with Shanks. All he has are brief clashes, and I don't see anyone saying Egghead Zoro > Mihawk because he clashed with Nusjuro for a second.

Where does the manga say Mihawk and Shanks were fighting back then? The flashbacks give no indication they were fighting around the time BB scarred Shanks.

I simply answered your question lol and on what basis are you saying shanks only clashed with Kaido. They definitely had a fight after which Kaido started respecting shanks as someone who can fight on par with him.
