Chapter Discussion The people who say Harald let himself be killed are missing the point

Harald was fighting the seal with every ounce of his will, so the power scaling discussion is dumb. In the end he allowed Loki, who was unwilling to go through with it, to finish him.
While under its influence he was not.
Harald himself told Loki to kill him fast before he lost control again. Feels like an unnecessary thing to add if Loki was stronger.
No it just meant that discussion time was almost over and they would become enemies again, we saw on screen Loki manhandle Harald who tried to attack him.

Loki only had the strength to do so because Harald called out to him to eat the fruit beforehand. Loki did not have the idea and did not actually want to eat it before it was clearly seen as necessary. If not, and Harald ate it, it would have been game over. The only victory came about because Harald was trying his hardest to stop fucking up, not X being stronger than Y

Uh, Harald was actively trying to reach Loki mate but Gaban, Shanks, the guards were stalling him.

And the end result is what matters.

Fruit Loki beat the shit out of Harald and wouldve continued doing so until he killed him wether Harald regained his senses or not.
this
as weird as it is, loki 14 years ago is factually > amped harald
He literally was grabbing Harald head in a panel lol.

He was trying to reach Loki AFTER he called Loki to the castle. Harald stopped himself by using Loki, with Shanks and Gaban along incidentally. There's no reason to believe that with the seal's power and without Loki getting the power up that Harald allowed him to access, that Loki would have been able to win.

In fact... he says this outright in a moment of clarity.

Dude what are you talking about. Did you read the entire last two chapters? He stopped being himself haflway through 1169 and was going to go after the fruit until Gaban and Shanks + the guards stopped him.

I don't like Harald as a colossal fuck up character, but Oda is pretty clear on his redemption. If he didn't advocate for Loki there would be no more elbaf

We also saw Shanks and Gaban on screen easily chop off Haralds leg, we saw how that went afterwards.

Harald wouldn’t force Loki to kill him while he still had his mind if he knew Loki could beat him, as Loki said, that’s cruel.

I think DR Harald feels a bit weaker than DR Rocks did, but overall he was amped for sure and Loki was highly comparable to him at the absolute least.

Imo the main threat of Harald was his regen, he'd lose to Loki in a fight but he'd keep healing and getting back up over and over while Loki would tire out eventually.

Also I can't see your original post's text in the light theme for some reason. Think your font colour is the reason why.

Harald couldnt do shit to him when he was influenced by the seal, he would've been killed regardless because he couldn't handle Loki in a straight fight.

Oda just let him regain is senses for a bit so he could talk to Loki one last time.
Does this work now? @Elder Lee Hung come here.

Random guards also manhandled herald, the think is loki only won because herald had control over the seal and over his body, this is what allowed loki to deal a strike that did damage.
Randon guards would have killed herald also if he let em/had control of his body and regeneration.

Holy cope, what. The guards werent doing shit. He massacred them.

Harald believed that Loki could kill him even with his regen and it happened. Its not like he turned off his regen when Loki finished him off.
