Break Week Did ZKK not happen due to Oda hating him?

No, Oda simply did what he always does: Luffy beats the strongest and Zoro beats the 2nd strongest (yeah, you could say that he has beaten the 3rd strongest since BM was there, but I'd say that she's from another crew). It'll be like that until the end, Zoro (or any other character for that matter) won't ever beat the main antagonist of an arc.
Something that Luffy always did was kill a person's dream instead of killing the actual person, and Zoro has in the past said Luffy was too soft as a captain.

I was thinking if it happened that way Luffy would defeat Kaido, and then he would try to give him a chance to redeem himself later, and Zoro would tell him not to do it and just kill him, and then when Kaido tried to pull a Frieza on Luffy, Zoro would finish him.

The issue with that thinking though is that it would..

1) it would mean Zoro would be further convinced that Luffy is unfit as a captain

2) it would mean Zoro disobeyed Luffy.

It might've been cool, because then we would've gotten the whole "a new legend was born, the story of a man who killed an Eastern Dragon" and a parallel to Ryuma, but ya that specific situation would've been similar to the whole Frieza thing.

If Kaido launched one last desperate Bolo Breath while Luffy was walking away and Zoro yelled "You fool!!" (referring to Luffy) as he cuts his head off.

Zoro was getting too close to dethrone his mc he had to sabotage everything he set up for him in wano and sanji fans were running camapigns this poll to not allow marimo to win. Look where their boy ended up as result but to them it was a necessary sacrifice
sanji being number 4 in this poll never fails to make me laugh :suresure: putting the salt in the wound for the sanji fans there

Luffy IMO doesn't kill any dreams, he sometimes even revives them in the antagonists he beat (i.e., makes them better). Buggy went on for the Grand Line after Luffy defeated him. Smoker too. Wapol went on to build his Wapometal empire and marry Kinderella. Crocodile restored his dream to become the PK. Luffy usually "breaks" the villain only if he's too irredeemable (e.g.: Arlong, Hody, Kaido, et al.).

What about Morgan
Good catch, but it was a team effort in the end (Luffy had to save Koby). Nami also has her signature in Buggy's defeat (Orange Town) and Sanji in BM's defeat (WCI) if we're counting that.

Oda once explained the reason Luffy doesn't kill his enemies. What they represent is a dream, so killing their ambition is the same thing as death.

I think the question then becomes whether someone is hell-bent on their dream and will pursue it even if they're defeated and if they have the means to do it. Kaido existing any further may have implied he was something like a natural disaster that needed to be stopped. Without any dialogue, though, it's just Luffy killing a dude lol

ZKK aside, I think Oda realized what a bigger Zoro role would mean for Luffy's popularity. It's not just here or in that one poll: really evident that Luffy's popularity is mainly due to having the extreme bulk of the story built around him.

I don't think Zoro killing Kaido would make Luffy any less, but there are plenty of people who feel it would. I'm sure Oda would feel as though he'd sabotaged his own story if he projected that

If that happened, there would probably have to be a Luffy Vs. Zoro moment where he questions his leadership, and if it happened at the top levels with Emperors, Zoro would be in the right to say it, but it would cause a problem with the crew. Sanji might even tell Zoro to back off, but Zoro would reiterate that Luffy can't be doing that at this stage.

Interesting developments could have happened, but whatever.

Oda let a pre-power up Zoro scar Kaido, a high top-tier and World's Strongest Creature, after overwhelming him in a head-on clash, with 30 broken bones, after saving the rooftop 5 from an island level combination attack from 2 Yonko, whilst Trafalgar Law looked on as a cheerleader, after Luffy the captain was just KOed by the same Kaido whilst failing to inflict any noteworthy damage... and y'all are asking does Oda hate Zoro ☠️
