Why are we pretending this isn't temporary? how many instances of people cheering on regime change and then over a few years or decades it turning out just as bad or worse do we have to see before we stop pretending this has anything to do with heroism? you think a US installed leader, also non democratically elected, will be good to the people there? For how long? If the venezuelans decide they don't support it, theyre getting bombed for oil.

Just because desperate people are cheering doesn't mean we have to pretend this won't just be how it always is. New guy will still be a dictator, but just one who gives oil to the USA. If a non usa-friendly guy runs, the USA will ensure they cannot win in favor of whoever is owned by USA corportations. We all, if we're not pretending, know that whoever it is will be just as corrupt, and run the playbook of trumps bestie bukele and arrest dissenters and journalists. The heads of the USA have already admitted its just to install someone who will give US corps oil.
