Why does it feel silly? Oda chose what he wanted to draw. True Oda never cared about drawing CoA for Sanji but you have no proof he doesn't care about drawing CoA for Vergo. We can't just assume every character is treated the same like Sanji. Vergo wore white pant so Oda should have drawn Vergo legs black if Vergo used hardening like I've posted.

King and Zoro both are non logia but Oda still drew haki for them. Same can be said for 5 SN vs Kaido and Big Mom.

Imo since post TS, Luffy in his G2 is stronger than Sanji in his DJ because Sanji spams DJ all the time.
Luffy in G3 is stronger than Sanji Hell Memories.
