Yeah that's why I mentioned Wano. Zoro and Sanji ran around doing random side quests for a while before fighting King and Queen, so maybe Oda will take a long time to get into the main fights of this arc too. He does love to stall.

The fact that there´s really no excitement over seeing Imu in the next couple chapters, Oda really fucked up there, 7 years since his introduction, pretty clear confirmation he´s the top 1 in verse(what everyone wants their favorite characters to be) and no one really gives a shit about the guy, isn´t a good look, story wise. People would rather talk about Doffy, from 12 years ago.
(though to be fair, I think last chapter Imu talking about Harald was kind of interesting. But that might be the only time ever, lol)

Imu is a bad character, but I liked him when he first appeared at the Reverie, it was mysterious and cool, the character really had potential. But since then, he’s appeared forty times; we’ve seen him in broad daylight but always as a black silhouette. He only says vague and mysterious things without ever finishing his sentences. It’s become ridiculous. Hopefully, when the character gains more importance and we dive into his story, he’ll be better written and interesting again.

Imu was starting to grow on me a little bit, but I'm sorry, I just can't do it. Either he needs to get killed by BB soon, or he needs to be fleshed out far more than he has been. The whole “Ohhh I'm secretive and mysterious” trope has completely jumped the shark with his black blob ass.

The problem is that Imu is too Manichaean. Obviously, many One Piece villains are evil just for the sake of being evil, but they also have doubts, contradictions, and emotions. This human side usually appears after their backstory is revealed. Since Imu’s story is tied to the Void Century, Oda can’t reveal that part yet. That’s why it feels like we only have half a character right now, and hopefully, once his story is told, Imu will become a fully fleshed-out character.

Pretty much, there isn´t really any excuse at this point. Past villains already had interesting moments very early on(think Blackbeard or Sakazuki, even on just introduction, lol) but there´s just nothing to say about Imu at this point except that he´s really broken, and he´s sort of...disinterested in everything, I guess?

It´s just really bad writing when the only character I´m looking forward to see in this arc is Sommers, when this arc is supposed to be such a big deal

One peice will be one of the worst shonens ever during its ending senileda is really making that a reality.Powerscaling,Fight choreography,power system,meaningful/thematic connections will be done poorly.
