Zoro didn't figure out how to regulate enma until the end of King fight.
what zoro did in king fight is just let emma suck him dry with no limit. that's why he was at risk of dying. in kaido fight, emma didn't misbehave at all. meaning he had emma under control and satisfied. which makes perfect sense cause he was not holding back against kaido lol. As evidenced by him using asura against kaido and not against king.

he was not fine he was pulling his Haki back the whole time, Zoro even says at the end that he was scarred of enma because of what it wanted and took his Haki back the whole time. thats why Zoro against Kaido said "I have to unleash more of enmas Power" which basically he was saying that he did not put all of his Haki in the sword because he was scarred. only at the end were he understood to trust enma it gave him a buff.
you know Zoro fans would agree that Sanji is equal to him when he had the feats to back it up, like the whole problem always is that Sanji fans argue against what is shown and give Sanji Powers he does not have.

He didn't let enma suck him dry, enma forcibly took it because he never had any control of his haki output. Happened in the kaido fight too btw, when he put too little haki in Onigiri and then moments later enma sucked in massive amounts of haki during Dragon Blaze which made him miss the attack.
