The deal with power's role:
first, to establish that there are no contradictions/bastard elements regarding mafia having a living jinchuriki:
- it was never stated by me that jinchurikis have to be town aligned. the game mechanics say that certain roles have bijuu inside of them. a strong supporting argument to this is that galaxy was a flipped indie jinchuriki.
- in the revealed factional abilities and mafia wincon it is only stated that mafia needs to ultimately seal all 9 bijuu, not that they all need to be town.
- neeko's passive only reveals that the akatsuki have captured and sealed 2 bijuu before the game started. it does not root out that one of the akatsuki is a living jinchuriki that isn't captured or sealed yet.
fun fact: mafia actually were never told what number tailed beast was the second bijuu that they had captured before the game starts (the 6-tailed bijuu). they'd have to take a wild shot at guessing it or potentially use rolecop TMI to determine which bijuu is claimable if they want to fake claim it later. mafia was a team of 9 so each of them could essentially claim a bijuu before getting lynched to at least gain some reactions or even stall their lynch if they happen to claim being the 6-tailed bijuu and sell it well.
next, here are some subtle clues that helps town arrive at finding that one of the mafia can be a bijuu:
- shuijin's hidden passive, while redacted, subtly opens possibilities to speculate that the akatsuki leader is a jinchuriki or associated with bijuu in some form given the unredacted wording
- the akatsuki leader dies if sealed normally or via shuijin's hidden ability, but survives if partial sealed. what happens if he partially sealed is that the name of his bijuu is revealed: "poison beetle" which subtly hints at him being the unknown poisoner.
- the fact that poisons have stopped to happen after power was partial sealed subtly points toward him possibly being the poisoner who lost his poison powers after being sealed.
- mechanic wise town knew the last scum had a poison healing ability to heal RA, and power claimed such a healing ability. it was his best claimable ability so he's forced into it. of all the flipped mafia roles not a single one had a poison heal. only power does. boa can heal wound/burns, not poisons. basically the mafia poison healer was not flipped and town knew mafia must have had atleast one, which points more fingers to power.
- you were told at the end of night 1's Kage summit that the Akatsuki leader feels very confident in declaring war against all nations almost like he had a "secret weapon". this was actually a very subtle hint. this secret weapon was the strong jinchuriki claim. this one is too subtle tho and just having fun with the flavor, i dont expect many to pay much attention to it. i only recall charlie did.
- during the night where power got partial sealed, power chose to protect shanks, not himself like he said he wud do in thread. this is what caused the contradiction in thread and showed that one of the kages is lying. since AM and hayumi flipped town and claimed not responsible for it, the only kage left that could have done it was power.
- town has to protect the bijuu from being sealed. this includes protecting power stops his bijuu from being sealed and slows the mafia wincon. you aren't being deceived. protecting a jinchuriki, regardless of their alignment, slows mafia's wincon. It's why power was adamant about not being protected in the night he partial sealed himself. this game was mostly about killing mafia before they achieve their wincon. it doesn't matter how many townies die. protecting the bijuu was a mean to delay mafia's wincon, not necessarily save townies.
- during night 1 it appears that daniel got promoted twice to become jonin and lots players where speculating that cake might have somehow found a way to talk to his team in order to boost daniel. this was true, and the way to do that by design was the land of lightning higher-ups chat where cake gets to talk to paragorn/power, who told him to boost daniel in the chat.
i get that nothing above is a "concrete evidence" against him, and thats intentional because its made to be a strong claim, but the above is enough to get the gears turning and get town to think beyond the faulty "jinchuriki = town locked" idea
thats part of "solving the mystery" so to speak. i don't agree that it was bastard because it was never explicitly stated by the host that all jinchuriki are town, and galaxy was a living proof of that not being the case. i think there were sufficient enough clues to solve this, and many players got close to doing so.
