[FNZ] Super Role Madness Naruto Shippuden: An Alternate Universe Mafia Game Thread [Game Ended - Mafia Win]

Question

What makes a game a bastard game
If the host lies to you or stuff is just misleading with no counter play or way to learn about that.

For example, there were Death Tailors in the Halloween Mash in 2023 that allowed the scum team to fake flips. But there was a role or multiple Idr that could identify a true flip, so the game was partly bastard, but at the same time had counter play.

Fuji‘s Bleach game was similar.

Such games are generally considered fine because they have a warning so people know what they sign up for and have counter play.

Then there are games like this one which had misleading info as well as no counter play at all.

This is not fine since there wasn’t even a warning.

So there’s layers to bastard games as well.

why would Kekko need a coach??
He's just hosted a game where there are lynchpins that you're advised to protect. Another player's role PM explicitly outlines that scum need to seal these and that they've already sealed two. And the host writeup for one of the nights had a specific lynchpin be listed along with another one (that was town) as having been sealed. In spite of this, that lynchpin was actually scum-alignment.

On top of this, there were several cases of roles needing to be hotfixed mid-game to prevent unforseen issues. A coach would probably go a long way to preventing some of this stuff.

Idk how mafia politics work but would it not be beneficial for every host to have a co host or assistant one person might over look something but if two people are working on it then everything should turn out fine 🤔

🤔or maybe something where newbies assist a veteran host for a few games before going out on their own

Another good example for a bastard game was the Mash I just played. We had a role that could redirect a lynch, but then the player just dies next day anyway.

And Town had a role in return that, if used correctly, could technically just clear 20 people at once. And we had no counter play for that role.

But people knew it was bastard so we knew it could contain stuff that can fuck you over. Our team had fun regardless and just pushed through. If you know beforehand it’s bastard you’re prepared and can have fun at the same time. In the end we got that role out and had only 6 clears and all worked out.

It definitely helps. When Fuji and I ran Gears, it helped with us being active at different times too.

I don't really want to force it especially when availability comes into play. I think with Ekko's case I don't really mind for SRM, for RM though he going to need one. It does mean accepting that SRM has bastard elements intrinsically but I'm okay with that.

On Bulbagarden every game needs to have a mod overseeing it. But it’s lame because many mods are active players and whoever mods can not play.
I can technically help with the coaching since I don’t want to play his games anymore anyway. Maybe that is an idea.

Tbf for the hotfixes we were told it could happen in the rules.

Right, but the ideal is for them to not happen at all. A fresh pair of eyes can help with that. That said, I don't really want to mandate anything for SRM. And given that this is SRM it doesn't really matter. Role Madness however will be a different story.
