I think you might be misunderstanding the timeline, I mean I don’t think those panels are in chronological order. The panel of her crying about her dad is probably 15-20 years after the panel of her and Brook together.
Unless I’m misunderstanding what you’re trying to get at.

I completely agree on that, otherwise it’d extremely creepy & problematic considering their obvious age difference in that second panel. Brook is a bit of a creep with him constantly asking to see panties, but I don’t see him as a predator. Just a harmless pervy older man.
