There is a need because SH needs to be stronger, to befit the title of PK crew, especially those who will change the world.
But because Oda and OP fans are reluctant / seemingly doesn't want Sanji to be strong, this result in adding quantity : hence why Yamato and/or Loki is needed.
So, either give respect to Sanji, or adding new nakama.

Not sure what the correlation is to the strawhats getting new crew members. Unless you believe the SHPs are disbanding after final war, they're gonna get more crew members, even if they join shortly before the final war. lol.

Add more characters to the crew and keep it fresh. Oda literally slapping em in the face with showing Roger's crew being huge and they still stuck on a lil pirate gang for the King of the Pirates.

Yamato doesn't need to join until they face Blackbeard Pirates. The arc's main action is literally just starting, and what would her as a 12 year old, not fighting at this moment have anything to do with her not joining as an apprentice by the end? two are completely irrelevant.
You're literally running this off an assumption that we have two quick short arcs left before final war (and even then mfs can join the crew right before final war, for all that matters), which I disagree with.

Also why do you think the coverstory for Yamato was happening in parallel to the main story??
We literally have no idea how long that took place nor the actually time that's taking place inside that cover story. So i don't even know why/how you think Yamato is still in Wano, when she could've already left Wano and be on her way to Elbaf.
