I claimed having studied with Cal first. If Melkor would be mafia wouldn't he shoot himself in the foot by claiming having studied with me afterwards as it's expected that I could notice something being wrong?

Both you and cal get 1 point from you studying with cal

Both Melkor and you get 1 point for him studying with you.

You should not have a third point (you can't study alone AND study with someone else)

Could also be the case, yeah. Cal didn't have the most enthusiastic reaction to me having revealed that I studied with him although he should have gained an extra stat point because of this.
